What Has Changed ?

Google Maps Now Requires Each Site Have It’s Own Maps-Key

Google announced a massive revamp of its Google Maps function

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ?

As of June 11, 2019, you will need a valid API key and a Google Cloud Platform account to access the core Google Maps APIs.

If the Map on your site stops working, Google may drop you from its searches and your customers will not be able to find you.

Why Is This Happening ?

GOOGLE has put this in place because there are a small percentage of websites that have VERY HIGH maps usage and they need to bill them for it.

GOOGLE SAYS 99% OF ITS CUSTOMERS WILL NEVER REACH THE USAGE LIMITS, BUT ALL SITES MUST HAVE THEIR OWN KEY.

The Solution is Simple

We need to have 4 things in place for your MAPS:

1. A Google ‘Claim-My-Business’ Account.

2. Setup Google Search Console and Webmaster Tools.

3. Register For Your Maps API -Key.

4. Setup a Billing Account

NOTE: Google requires each account have a billing profile. The first 25,000 maps usages per month is FREE. After that, billing is $.005/click.

MOST SITES WILL NEVER EXCEED THE 25,000 MAPS PER MONTH
